CHEYENNE MOUNTAIN HERITAGE CENTER HOSTS MONTHLY

“HISTORY READERS REFUGE”

History Reader's Refuge Articles to Download (pdf format)

The Cheyenne Mountain Heritage Center continues its monthly program titled “History Readers Refuge” which meets the third Wednesday of each month (except in December) at 7:00 pm at the 8th Street Cheyenne Mountain Branch Library

Participants will read an article on western history prior to each meeting and then use the article as the basis for discussion.
Richard Marold, editor of KIVA, Journal of the Cheyenne Mountain Region will lead these informal, but highly engaging discussion sessions. Admission to this monthly program is free of charge and anyone interested in regional history is welcome to attend.  The article for each session is posted on the Heritage Center’s website at www.CMHeritageCenter.org.  Each article may be retrieved from the library computers, just ask for assistance!

Marold, who in addition to being editor of KIVA is well known for his portrayal of Winfield Scott Stratton, said that “a monthly history book club required more time than many people have. But reading a significant historical article and discussing it with other interested people fits the time constraints of our busy society.”
